| Metal Gear Online Beta Of course I got the promotional DVD including the voucher code and the neat storyline compilation included in the DVD.
So, few problems off to hop; Firstly after downloading the Beta and jumping in, you realize that the game is not ran through the Playstation networks, in fact its Konami's. Whatever right? Actually headache to be exact. Firstly download the two updates for the Beta, which will take a fucking long time because its Peer to Peer due to the immense amount of people trying to download all at once. After the 6 years of downloading finally you get to play! Wrong. Now you gotta register an account :3
Ok so it works like this, you got your PSNID (which is probably registered on your system) now you need a Konami ID, actually you need 2 user names and 2 passwords for this ID. Between 8-30 characters :3
Once you got that complete now you can jump in the game. Create your character, alter his voice, clothing, gear, etc. WOOO you made a rad looking character with top notch amazing as fuck graphics.
So you jump into training mode which runs you through the basics really skimming how immesely diverse the gameplay of the game is. The incorporation of the Close Quarters Combat seperates the pros from the losers off the hop. Smashing away at buttons won't save your life when it comes to CQC, positioning your character and timing your shots for grapples, and attacks makes a huge difference.
You get 3 types of aiming, Auto-aim (except for sniper rifles), 3rd person, and 1st person. Auto-aim is the novice form of aiming, and it forces the player to be within close range to use, secondly it does not allow for headshots, in fact its all lower chest shots. 3rd person view is by far the funnest form of fire, incorporating the rolling, CQC and crawling really shines this form of fire to be a dominate choice for a closer battle style. 1st person, just like any other shooter, is just about the most accurate form of fire, and really falls into the typical style of FPS, except a heighten recoil O_O the Recoil seems to be almost unrealistic with the amount you feel when firing the majority of the games. Although, it isn't something to complain about, not having ever fired something like a P90 or a AK47, I wouldn't know the realism factor and all for all if you're aim is good, then the shots are usually hits.
Granted this is beta, they only released 2 maps, and 18 players in a room MAX. Which is fairly good, the weapon choices are top notch, the skill system is unique and awesome. Leveling seems well balanced along with the skill leveling. There is some comedic factors incorporated, and Tea bagging is literally PERFECTED in this game.
Grab enemy-knock to ground-TEA BAG-whip out pistol-headshot-LOL!
Stun knife-stun enemy-1 minute long tea bag session
The beta in all reality, is only 30% of the reason as to why this game is going to dominate. The storyline, environment, and the fact that its metal gear solid, one of the world's best games to hit the shelves is the reason as to why this game is going to dominate. |
