This section covers most of the information needed about this topic. There are a few things that are a bit outdated at this time though, such as:
- The Arcade no longer works
- BBCode works in signatures, but it's easier to use what's given anyway
- Not shown on Forum Leaders
The Donation fee is $1 USD per year, not 6 per monthDonations are no more at the moment.
Gaming Gutter - FAQ: vBulletin FAQ
Currently this section mainly deals with the
GPoint System. Most of what should be known is already in here. There are some changes needed in here as well, but more research is needed before I can answer what.
- The vPlaza does not work
- The 'GPoint Bank' allows you to get a 3.50% interest on all the GPoints you have in it for 30 days.
- There are some forums that you will not get GPoints from while posting, such as Spamzville.
- Posting seems to give a 10 point bonus, per post.
- To give someone GPoints, click the
button under their post. - GPoints are not to overrule Reputation, but the other way around. GPoints are to be given to someone when they have done something minor for you, such as showing you a thread about some information you need. Reputation is to be given when someone has done something major, such as made a program that you can use or a guide that is well needed on your part.
- You can trade/give away GPoints if you so choose to (God know why...)
- You LOSE GPoints for every Private Message you send, for infractions on your part, and even when you get negative reputation.
- At the moment these have no purpose, but in time they might help buy real life items which will then be shipped off to you.

Unlisted Questions and Answers - What are Middlemen/Overseers/VIP/Trial Moderators?
First of all, let's start off with the
middlemen (middleman). These people are those who we, at GG, have trusted to be the between people of trades. All trades are suggested to be made with one of them to help prevent people from scamming you.
Then we have the Overseers who are pretty much, specified forum moderators. These are not global moderators or super moderators (S-Mods).
We also have the VIP. By the name, you should have already been able to guess that these are the 'very important people' of GG. They have their own forum, downloads, etc. You have to work hard and strive well to reach this spot since you would have to get noticed and voted in. (We used to be able to apply for this spot, but that changed so we now vote.)
And finally, there are the Trial Moderators. These people are those who applied for the position and are in the testing phase of their transformation between regular user to a moderator. Make sure to wish them luck on their profiles!
- Where can I find a list of people who have been banned?

Why you'd want to look that up, I have no idea. But it's fun to look at from time to time and see who got banned and why.
- Why can't I get out of here yet? I want to trade/program/etc. for GG.
Well, the reason you're stuck in here is simple. It's for you to understand our ways and rules before we let you out. There's one of two ways to get out:
- Be in here for TWO days
- Make a total of TEN non-spam posts
- Why did I get infracted? Wait, what is an infraction?
An infraction is what happens when you do something, on the site, that is punishable. This could be anything from spamming to necroing threads to scamming someone (which ends up in you also being banned). Remember to read the rules and keep your nose clean. Make sure to read the rules. A quick summary, however, would be the following.
- You were going off topic/discussing in the pit
- You replied to a thread whose last post was ages ago (Necroing)
- You posted with only one word (unless the thread specifically stated you should and was located in Spamzville)
- You spammed (Went off topic, started doing craptastic posts where they shouldn't be, made a spamish thread outside of Spamzville)
- Too many punctuation marks ("OMG!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!")
- You didn't read the forum rules and posted in places you should not have (Posting in someone else's thread in the Applications, for example)
- Why can't I view a thread? Says I need certain posts or some crap like that...
Well, let's see. Here's a few reasons why you might not be able to see said thread:
- It's been deleted
- It's in an area that you don't have permissions to (Underground, Trading post, etc.)
*To be able to view posts in the trading post, you need at least 25 posts. This is to prevent people from coming to GG to scam people. If you want to trade, you will need to gain 100 posts first. Note that spamming your way to 100 by leaving short and pointless messages like "k", "thanks", "good luck", "lol", "hello" or copying and pasting the same sentence in many threads will not get you into the trading post, it will get you banned.
*The GamingGutter Underground is a section which members are only able to access if they applied here. The underground is meant to be for special content, which should not be accessible by the public. Make sure to read the Guidelines before applying for UG (which is short for Underground)
- How do I get into the Trading Post? I want to traaaaaaaadeeeeee!
Well for starters, don't whine about it...geez. You'll need at least 25 posts to be able to get in there. It's a precautionary measure to help prevent people coming in here and scamming others (see back to Middeman question). Once again, spam your way to 50 and I'm sure you'll get your ass banned. And don't think about getting back in here, once you're banned once you're banned for good.
- Okay...how about the Underground then?
Well, for starters you'll need 250 posts and 10 Reputation points. Once you have that, you can go and apply here:

Well, you need to activate your account first! Go check your email and wait for the activation email to come. If after awhile, you don't see one, contact either Nomhak or Kyo (not both).

- What's the difference between Reputation Points and Reputation Power?
Reputation points, if you didn't check out the thread I linked to above, is the sum total of Reputation you have been given. Reputation Power is the amount you can give in positive reputation. You can give up to half your Reputation Power for a negative rep. Example: You have 20 Rep Power. You can negative rep someone for 10 or positive rep someone for 20.
- Can I delete my own posts?
Short answer, at this time, no. Only donors can.
- How come after I got my 10 posts/2 days done, I still can't post out of the Sandbox?
Well, simply put...it takes some time. Just wait it out and you'll be fine.

What is PBM and Why do you Admin Keep Banning me for it? - How come after I get 11 posts, I can't post in the Sandbox anymore?
Um, the sandbox is for newbies. Shoo. Go on and mingle with the other members of the site already. You should be able to still post in the Intro threads though, but remember..."Spam and you are b&".
- How come I can't post in threads (In the sandbox/anywhere on the site)?
Did you think about activating your account? If you haven't, then check your email for the activation link.

Recently we've started having a rather large influx of spam posts in the Sandbox, and it's started to worry me so much so that I think I need to add it in here.
Under each post, there is a small button that looks like this 
. If you see an actual 'Spam' post; meaning it has no purpose in the thread or is just a person posting shit to get to 10 posts, please click that little button and report them. No one will know who reported it, other than the moderators or other people who reported them as well (for that post).
Please, do your part on helping keep clean our community, as I'm sure you all can agree that quality is better than just quantity.
