GPoints: 25,866 Rep Power: 100 | Legal Disclaimer/Terms of Use As many of you have Seen, a Legal Disclaimer has been added to Gaminggutter, the reason is we were threatened by Gaia and they demanded that our hosts shut us down, so quick thinking arose and we counter-acted by protecting ourselves legally and professionally. This major milestone would have not been accomplished without the assistance of Li-Shun and his friends.
Please use this thread to ask any questions regarding the Disclaimer, remember no spamming, thanks.

And your friends to.
Also, does this restrict any of the stuff we normally do here?

in essence, yes. In the disclaimer, which was written by a lawyer (for real, I got friendz!11 )- it goes over how every individual is responsible for their own actions on the Internet. So if people access or read/try/educate themselves about programs or any other information seen on The Site (Gaminggutter)- it is at their own risk.
In a nutshell, if someone does something bad and gets caught, the SIte cannot be blamed, nor can the poster of the program/etc be blamed as it was the individuals choice to interpret that in their own way.
Same goes for is they post about something they've discovered; if it's sketchy- it's no one's fault they chose to find it and post about it.
It's the individual user hel responsible for their own actions in their entirety.
As Nomhak said, it actually enables more freedom. It doesn't LIMIT GG users at all, it protects us from idiotic loopholes and veiled threats.

Though I helped mostly with translation and interpretation. My friend Maki (and another friend who takes a corporate confidentiality agreement way to seriously and wishes to remain anonymous) is in law and together we got it together in a day. So yay Maki <<..
But yeah, a lot of Sites have smaller, non-legal departments that try and use the threat of legal action against smaller privately owned websites to get their way.
This makes sure that doesn't happen D<
