I think it is a built-in feature for vbulletin. If you make 2 posts in a row during a certain amount of time, the posts get merged.
I thought it was already setup, but apparently not (Considering I just got a warning for it)

If there was an auto-merger, then I wouldn't have been able to double post. Meaning you wouldn't have had to take your time merging my posts manually.
