GPoints: 1,090 Rep Power: 11 | GG Online Radio Now, I have been researching this for a while now trying to put it together. This is what I now have:
It seems that a lot of the GG community is into music. We post about music all the time, and we discuss it. Now recently I did an all nighter on GG to observe the activity. And it seems that it dies out every other hour or so. During this time the members could be listening to the radio to pass time by.
These are some of the ideas I have now:
* I can set up all the software and in essence the radio station with Virus's help.
* Once the radio station is set up we would need to vote on "GG DJ's" or whatever title you would like. These members could have a special usergroup. We would need different DJ's that will be active. And they will be able to be online at different times of the day so that they could operate the system. Some of the prerequisites could be: Active Member, 500+ post, and 100+ rep. These users would also need to have access to Limewire or a similar program, 5G+ to store music, and all the software required to operate the Station.
* We can set up a special Thread/Section for requesting a song. This thread would be open whenever a GG DJ is online. That way the users can here what they want.
* There will be another thread for discussing the radio station, the songs that are currently playing, and discussing music in general. Also a thread for suggestions. Lastly we would have a link/thread that redirects to Firewraths Warez Music and warez request.
* We would play all sorts of music, except religious music for obvious reasons.
* I also have a few ideas for contest and things to keep the Radio Section alive because this is the type of thing that could easily die out without the Radio team advertising and soliciting it. One contest that could reoccur weekly is "Mix of the Week." This is a contest in which members use programs such as Audacity to make music mixes. Each week would have a theme such as Alternative. 70's Jazz, etc.
That is pretty much all I have now. Of course I posted this here for feedback and suggestions. If you are interested in helping, Please PM me.

GPoints: 1,090 Rep Power: 11 | Also something G3 just suggested is having a couple different stations for different taste in music.
