What the hell is the difference between GD and Chat?

I've been wondering this for a long time. Obviously Chat has been labeled as "Mindless chit-chat" but how does that make it different from the mindless chit-chat in the GD?

Furthermore, how many times do you actually see a thread moved from GD to Chat?

Given there's probably some small nuance I'm missing, but effectively, they're not really any different. Plus, anything in Chat is basically not even one step above Spamz.

So in short, fuck Chat.

It's slightly less spammy then Spamsville, but just a degree more spammy then the GD.

It was spamzville then people bitched about not getting post count so we gave it post count and made spamzville. In essence it's a redundant section that died because it was given the function everyone wanted while taking away the leniancy they liked about it.
