Topic: Building Ok, I'm an admin in the Chaos Crew server, and the owner asked me to post a guide for the nubs so they stop asking me how to fucking build shit. So I came up with this so far, and am about to show it to him. How to enable your console Enabling your console is the most important thing for you to do in able for you to even use SourceOp. Without the console you would not be able to use anything SourceOp related, and that just SUCKS! To enable your console you must go to Options>Keyboard>Advanced and check off the box where it says “Enable Console” then press “OK” then “Apply”. Now that you have your console activated you may access it in game by pressing the “~” key which is above Tab on your keyboard. How to spawn a prop e_spawnprop - This command is the most important and is necessary to spawn props with SourceOp; to spawn a prop type e_spawnprop into the console and “W00TZ” you spawned a prop. An demonstration would be this: e_spawnprop <prop name> Replace <prop name> with a name of the prop you want to spawn and it will appear right in front of you to use. An example and something for you to try out would be: e_spawnprop bars1 once you have typed this into your console, there will be a set of moveable bars for you to further alter. This concludes the prop spawning section. How to grab and copy props Grabbing and copying props and entities are another important key in Building. Without grabbing and copying props it would be very difficult to make houses and their walls because you would have to keep going into the console and typing out the same command over and over again. To grab and copy props use the following commands: +grabent - This command is used for moving Objects (that you have spawned) to where you want them to be placed. You will know when you have grabbed an entity with this command because the prop/object will turn see through red. +copyent - Similar to +grabent except it “COPYS” an entity you are pointing at, allowing you to move the duplicate to where you want it to be placed. You will know when you have copied a prop/object with this command when the object will have a duplicate that is a see-through purple color. How to rotate a prop There are 2 ways to rotate a prop: “+rotate” and “e_rotate”. Both commands very important in the building of big complex structures like a house. Without rotating props wit would be very difficult to get the desired angle on a prop such as a triangular roof or a diamond shaped window. To rotate props you can use two commands: +rotate - This command allows you to grab onto a prop you are pointing at and rotate it around at any angle. When you grab onto a prop with this command you can move your mouse around and watch as your prop will start to move with it. For people who have played Garry’s Mod, This Is just like the Phys gun rotating. e_rotate - e_rotate is similar to “+rotate” except its only rotating on a vertical axis. To rotate with this command you must use this format: e_rotate <degree’s rotated> Replacing “degree’s rotated” with a number between 1 and 359 will rotate that prop said degrees on the vertical axis. Removing Props There are 2 ways to remove props. One way is only for admins in the Chaos Crew server. I will explain both for Admins/mods will be reading this 2. Removing a prop is very important because the more props there is in a server, the more likely it is for the server to crash. So to prevent this we “delete” them. To remove props use the following commands: e_kill – THIS IS FOR ADMINS ONLY This command will shoot a red beam out of you and remove the prop you were pointing at. This is also good for slaying unwanted visitors or people who break the rules if they are in sight. IF ANYBODY BUT AN ADMIN IS SEEN USING THIS YOU WILL BE KICKED FOR COMMAND ABUSE. e_removespawned – this is available for regular players. When typed in console it will remove any props you have spawned Or copied that are on the map. If you do not wish to remove all of your props but just a few, ask an admin politely and we would Gladly be able to help. How to Freeze and un-freeze an object Have you ever had built something really unique and right when u go to touch something everything falls to pieces? Or ever had a house put together but then have somebody come in and steal your props? To prevent this from happening we use commands to freeze objects in one place. To do this u must: e_freeze – Use this command while pointing at a prop to freeze it in a specific location and angle. This is useful for making houses and building jails. e_unfreeze – This command works the same as e_freeze but you can unfreeze an object that you have previously frozen. This is for moving an object that you have frozen to a different spot to fit your liking. +raep if you got help from this for using SourceOp? Thnx are appriciated  | |
