Topic: Would placing your child/baby in an orphanage or adoption agency be concidered as legal abandonment?

yes/no? why?

there are children all over the world who are abandoned and i think the ways of adoption is the government legalizing this decision of leaving your child.

yes i will agree on that..but there are thouse case's where the family just cant take care of there child and i hate to say it but they make the choice to leave there child with someone else with the hope that they can give them a better life then what they have right now...me personaly..no even if i was dirt poor and had nothing to my name never would i give my child up, but thats just me, i know that there are people that spend there whole lives regretting that they gave up there child, ashamed that they have failed that kid....life can be a bitch....

Yes, it may be so.
I, personally, would not put a child up for adoption, because if it's my child, I should take care of it.

But there are some people that feel like they can't take care of a child. If they can't take care of that child, and they keep the child anyway, then what's going to happen to that child? His/her life may not the for the best. So that's one reason why someone may put a child up for adoption.
Another reason is a rape baby. Maybe the mother hates the father so much that she doesn't want anything to do with him. And the baby is partly his DNA, so she doesn't want to be reminded of him.
Besides, the baby/child may be in better hands with someone else.

Yes, orphanages are a way of getting rid of an unwanted child, legal abandonment if you will.

But, putting your child in an orphanage is better than dragging them with you, where they will grow unhappy because the parents did not want them/ were not ready to have kids.

Also, adopting your children certainly is better than ABORTING it, at least give it a chance to live for crying out loud.

Furthermore, a child with adopted parents will get a chance to live and grow happy, thing which the biological parents could not do.

That depends on the situation. You could just leave your baby on the floor, knock on the door and run, which I wouldn't find legal, whereas walking through the door, talking to the right people, giving your information and the babies is legal.

I think it really depends on what will be better for the child. If adoption is going to be better then fine. Although, I don't think you should be able to put some one up for adoption if you can obviously take care of the child.

I would say yes/no. Yes, if the parents do not have the means to raise the child. No, if the adoption agency is actually a middle man dabbling in child slavery.

Evidently the majority thinks that it's ok under certain conditions, and is not ok in other situations. Let's just leave it at that?

From a legal standpoint? I have no idea. With that said, wouldn't you rather a parent abandon their child at an adoption agency instead of in a dumpster?
