GPoints: 106,387 Rep Power: 27 | I still can't help laughing my ass off when one of the religious members of the forum, during a religious debate, decided to call the atheists on the side of the debate "Scientologists" as an insult. It was just amazingly funny that here they are trying to argue about religion, and shooting of insults at us that they had no idea about. Scientologists? Lmao. Even scientology is a religion, and is far from Atheism. NEVER ever think that just because someone believes in Science that it has ANYTHING to do with scientology.
Anyways, that little rant aside....
Evolution has not only been proven, it has been SEEN over our own lifetimes. New species have been created by putting them somewhere they didn't belong, and over time the original species evolved into one different than what they originally put there.
I won't argue though, whether or not there is a god. If someone believes in one, you can't talk them down from it, so really arguing about it is pointless. You can't prove an invisible man is or isn't there unless said invisible man decides to prove it himself.
Personally, I don't believe in invisible men, invisible pink unicorns, imaginary friends, or anything of the sort. Just the voices in my head, which is another thing I can't argue whether they exist or not. I know they exist...I can hear them. But can you hear my voices? No. So how am I supposed to prove to you they do or don't exist? Exactly. Can't do it. >.>

@Cody! - It was pretty obvious anyway since Science/Religion debates is pretty common. I think Cum was just joking, now that I think of it.

1. Science CAN explain subconsciousnes.
2. You don't need science to explain why we give food to cows rather than to poor humans. By feeding cows, they grow bigger, allowing us to sell them for money. Giving food to poor people supposedly makes you "feel better about yourself." That's all though..
3. I don't know a single person who has been driven "insane" because they "didn't know what to believe."

GPoints: 6,456 Rep Power: 4 | @I Rock - If you had a hard time understanding her, you wouldn't have posted right after her, saying her idea is good. Obviously, either way, you're lying.
Anyway, this debate is about science and religion, you're the one who totally went off topic. This isn't grammar class. So you fail.
And to be honest, I didn't even had a hard time understanding what she said. I bet you're just trying to look good by pointing out little mistakes. Well that doesn't work here.
@Ashy - my professor told me that it wasn't really the sea Moses divided. What the bible meant was the oasis that appears and disappears all of a sudden, but of all the impossible things mentioned in the bible, that's what she only explained to me. Not sure if it's true.

GPoints: 106,387 Rep Power: 27 | Alright, cleaned up posts, now please stop bitching about bad grammar. You want to perfect your every period and every word, go for it. Insulting other members for not having perfect sentence structure and going off topic as such will be considered flaming, and continuing to bitch off topic about such petty things will result in an infraction. Have a problem with someone? PM a mod if they're breaking the rules, or PM them if you have a problem with them.
So, drop it there, or yes I will be handing out infractions. Goes for everyone.
Anyways, I've already made my opinion on the topic very clear, and there is not much to debate since it seems a majority of people willing to voice their opinions on the topic actually are atheists or agnostics with similar views on how insane the bible really does seem.

As for religion, come on now, what is this, the 1800's?
