Medically, I find it wrong as the off-spring may have mental and/or physical deformities. Emotionally, everyone should have the right to love anyone they want, regardless of affiliation. I'm not saying that I am going to go out and have sex with my uncle, but I just feel it's their choice on who they want to be with.

I think incest is gross but between distant cousins it isn't as bad. I guess I just don't understand why you would want to have sex with your sibling or mother. But I guess people are people?
Anyway, I think there should be laws (and there are) to protect the infants that might be born from such a relationship but in this case the ruling was probably too harsh.

They're at higher risk. When you have incestuous offspring, the amount of chromosomes in the baby is slightly less, which causes physical and mental deformities.

It's possible, but usually they grow up just fine.

It should be acceptable to have feelings for someone blood-related. However, for the sake of the offspring, I think this is why this is banned. Also, this touches upon morality and religion. I think they still practise incest in some royal families nowadays to preserve their bloodline or I might be mistaken.
