Very few online relationships can work out in my opinion.

Though I would rather date in real life, I wouldn't ever rule out the possibility of having an online relationship as a start of an in person one.

I think online relationships are okay, they're more likely to fail because they don't see the person everyday, but also they're easier to start b/c the person doesn't know who you are at all. If the other person provides you w/ only one picture of them, you can be sure that it might not be him/her.

I don't think they can work at all. I was in one for 4 years, I'm gonna say... I was 11 at the time and I had met him on neopets. The sad thing was at the time I had dumped an irl bf for him. It worked out for a pretty long while, but he started playing headgames with me and such. We were going to meet when
I turned 18, except he lived in Canada, and I lived in AZ. He cheated on me with an irl girl, and it broke my heart because we had been together for so many years. He tried to deny that he had ever dated her, but she even emailed me and was a total bitch. He turned himself into a liar, trying to say she never existed, and tried to make me seem like a slut just because I left him for an irl bf who I stayed with for 2 years. Scary thing is that he still bothers me occasionally, telling me how much of a 'slut' I am for leaving him and how he wanted to meet me so bad. I'm currently engaged to one of my old friends, and I'm very happy with him.

Point is....Online relationships rarely ever work out for kids, and if they do it is quite rare. I would suggest finding an irl bf/gf so you don't end up scarred like I was. I try to block him but he keeps harassing me with new accounts and such. I think they are more apt to work if the people meet sooner, irl temptation is srs business. >.>
