Lol, the first thing that came to mind was the South Park episode about this very subject. Granted under all circumstances that the person is in such a painful position that he/she can't live without hurting, and physically cannot commit suicide, it should be perfectly legal. Say a person is handicapped and has a disease that has no cure, and all it does is cause incredible never ending pain regardless of the medication taken, and there's solid proof that another person was asked to put the handicapped one out of his/her misery, I say that's fine. If I, God forbid, ever end up in a coma for even a month and the doctors say I'll never get out, I hope somebody would pull the plug on me. Yes, by all laws, religious or not, euthanasia and suicide alike are illegal, I see them perfectly fine, under some circumstances, that is.
Well, hope that helps a bit.
