Racism

Sorry if the title was spelt wrong.

Anyway, the other day i walked by a black guy and i heard some one shout nigger at him and racist abuse.

My dad stepped in and told the racists to f*ck off.

Then the black guy thanked us and walked on.

On the way back home we saw an ambulance with the black guy in it. He'd been stabbed, laying there gushing blood.

I think if people wouldn't be so racist then we would have better countries, county relation, and as a whole we would be a better planet.

Discuss.

The reason why there are racist people is because humanity sucks, no amount of wishing or hoping can change this. A better planet would be without humanity -_-.

Racist people don't really effect the world as much as you think, on a global scale its a small force. Most abuse is just verbal and doesn't matter that much and those who go further usually face the law, inside sane lands that is. In other countries it leads to genocide like africa (continent, I know) and WWII Germany. But those people just kind of lie down and take the abuse, hoping others will fight for them.

You can never get rid of racism. Just as long as there are things to seperate the human race; countries, cities, economy, religion, beliefs, color, etc. Racism will always be there. The problem with racism is not just people use it for hate; its the double standards of things, music, and humor embraces racism without a care about how many black people have hung from trees or spent their lifetime picking cotton. There are to many evils on this planet to even begin cleaning. Might aswell as let it build until we end up destroying our race.

I understood what they said despite any misspellings, and it didn't take any extra time. Hmm. I must be just amazing. *shrug*

Anyway, I don't think that the world is a bad place because of racism, I personally believe it's a bad place because of religion.

If there wasn't racism, yes, I think things would definetly calm down quite a bit, because I was in a school that was about 40% african american, and there were ALOT of fights caused by racism. It usually happened, of coarse, by some white kid saying 'nigger' in the wrong company.

The world will never be perfect, but if there was no racism, IF (not saying it's possible) then we would be a little better off.

Racism is alive because it is taught from parent(s) to child(ren). Kids see and hear their parents calling someone a racist name. So, when the child grows up, he or she will do the same. Monkey see, monkey do. However, the child can decide when he gets older to choose not to be like that. But that rarely happens. The only way I see to stop it completely is for parents not to teach it to their children.

I think most people agree with the fact that abandoning ideas such as racism, among others, would benefit society as a whole. If we could all just hold our tongues and refrain from stupid comments regarding race, color, or religion, humanity as a whole would probably be better off. Less fights, less violence, and a more unified view of equality.

And yet we continue to do things wrong. We're seriously the only race to plan ways to kill others of our kind, plot their murders, and carry them out over stupid things like color or race. That'd be like purple birds carrying out a massive holocaust against green birds. (Odd example, but the back to point.)

I agree with nomhak... there's so much evil, its near impossible to fix. We'll just end up killing ourselves. Racism may not be as obvious as it used to be, but its still around. We've just become more discreet about it.

That is a horrible story. :( It's real hard not to loose faith in humanity completely when you hear or read things like that. But I'm trying to be positive and say look at history and how far we have come. Sure, we do have a lot of work left to erase racism and prejudice, and we will never get rid of it completely. Yet we have come a long way since the times of slavery and when almost everyone looked down on people that weren't our own color.

I do really feel this issue is getting alot more attention from the media nowadays, the schools start to teach you about racism from an early age and hopefully this positive "trend" (horrible choice of word) wont ever stop.

LOL... words aren't everything. If a black man was to call me whitey or wigga I wouldn't care. People milk racism, it may have developed into something better then what it was back when blacks were slaves. I could guarantee that there where white slaves to. White people get killed by blacks cause they are white. If everyone learned to take a fucken chill pill it would settle down. I say "nigga" not cause I want to offend cause Ima wigga. I'm white & 90% of my friends are black. I laugh when people call me racist. I could care less. I guess tupac was right. Things will never change. Pretty sad when you think just cause you have different coloured skin means you have to bag on other coloured skins.
