GPoints: 20 Rep Power: 2 | Yeah I do realise that AIDS is more prevalent in the gay population, but still, its becoming less so.
And adopted children really have a 50/50 chance of gaining the same sexual preference as their parents. I knew a boy once, when I was really young, that you could tell straight up that he was gonna be gay (yes, he did turn out to be amazingly gay), and he had some pretty straight parents, so yeah, whilst the children could be influenced by the parents they grow up with, its often more something...I guess..."born" into the child, in a lot of cases, well, in the cases of the gay people I've been friends with anyways. I mean, my parents are both VERY straight, and I'm bisexual, not because its the latest craze, but because I genuinely find the female figure pleasing to my eye, more so than the male figure really, but I don't tend to get along with females well enough to be friends with them for any length of time, let alone so much as attempting a relationship with one xD. Iunno, I guess it really all comes down to the individual. I've never actually been with a woman for example, and everyone feels the need to ask "then how do you know you're bisexual", and the only logical response I can really come up with is "how do you know you're straight?". Its just something you know. Sexual preference doesn't really make you as different as people make it out to. You're still human, you still feel the same emotion for your preferred sex as other people do for theirs, whether you be gay, straight, bi or hell even undecided. Just because you happen to like someone that has the same genitals as you, shouldn't make you stand out, or make you any less of a person in society. Why should you have less rights than anyone else? Religion? No-body's asking to be included in a religious ceremony, marriage is about as religiously significant these days as video games. For the most part xD.
And yeah, living together is no less than being married, I've been living with my partner (male) for 2 years now, and we probably act more like a married couple should, than a married couple >.>. Why? Because we don't have this practically unseen pressure to stay together if we change our minds at any point in the game, and while we do have financial difficulties, its only because we're trying to get ourselves started, and its just a stage of life you need to go through unless you're lucky enough to get a trust fund handed to you >.>. Its not because we took out massive loans for useless crap and invited everyone to have free drinks on us for the night whilst we run around thanking everyone for coming even though we're just so god damn tired that we can't drink ourselves and we probably wont be able to have the traditional wedding night sex that night because we've been stressing out for the past 12 months about a day that we didn't even have time to enjoy because we were too busy running around like chooks with their heads cut off making sure that everything goes "perfectly", even though we know its impossible >.<.
Woah. Sorry about that. Bit long winded, but I know you probably wont read it all anyways so I'll just leave it there for my own satisfaction xD. I think over my last 2 posts I've DEFINITELY managed to get across the fact that I seriously think marriage is a massive big fat waste of everybody's time and money. If you want to show somebody that you want to be with them forever, don't cheat on them, tell them the truth, tell them what you're thinking when something's upsetting you, and don't treat them like your slave, and you should be right =)

/rant part 2. | Haha. Wow, I actually read the whole passage. However, due to time and environmental constraints, I am unable to dedicate a long response.
Anyhow, you have show your point on the topic. Marriage is indeed, bologna.
And, it's certainly good that AIDs is slowly decreasing in the population. I have reason to believe they just all died off.
Anyhow...good argument. Quote:

And thankyou for the compliment xD. You've presented your point quite nicely yourself...and it was MUCH easier to read xD. Good work ^.^.

GPoints: 20 Rep Power: 2 | Yeah, a different name is definately a legitimate ask. They're basically just saying marriage for the ease of it I think. Civil Union doesn't sound as romantic xD

GPoints: 523 Rep Power: 2 | Why shouldn't gays get married? In fact, I think it would be GREAT if more gay people did! The world population is so huge, and is still rising. With some more gay couples, we might be able to help avoid becoming stupidly over populated.
