Should gays be allowed to marry?

Marriage is a sacred bond between a Man & a Woman.
Thats why its so controversial.

That's a Christian view of marriage. Marriage is of the state. Even if you get married in the house of god the state won't recognize that "sacred bond" unless it is made official through them. In legal terms, in this day and age, religion shouldn't apply. Therefore it should be, as wikipedia calls it, a "personal union between people".

You are missing the point. Marriage started out as a Christian thing. It was and is a sacred bond. I mean people can try to change it but the roots and facts are still there.

Atheists don't give a crap about god or the "roots and facts" and many still do get married. Maybe not in a church but it's marriage all the same. Does that mean that atheists shouldn't be allowed to get married?

They don't have beliefs. I don't believe in any sort of religion (I am a man of science!) and I would still get married.

No it doesn't. If they get married by state they get all those delicious benefits and it's just a nice thing to do to show your partner that you love them and they're the only person for you. And atheists, I believe, have a lack of beliefs. ;)
