GPoints: 518 Rep Power: 14 | Personally, I don't think people in general should be allowed to get married.
The government should not be concerned with legislating morality by giving people tax breaks for taking part in a religious ceremony. Just the idea of giving tax breaks to people for living together and being part of a "family" seems to overstep my idea of government responsibilities. Marriage as a federal institution should be abolished.
I'm fine on people choosing to live together. I'm fine on people going through some ceremony to show their dedication to each other. I'm not fine on the government trying to control what is viewed as "right" and "wrong" by giving incentives to people to get married. Especially if it discriminates against certain relationships by barring them those incentives.
So yes. I think it's wrong for gay people to be married. But I also think it's wrong for straight people to be married.

Either way its stupid, I don't really care if they get married or not.
But they are contradicting the real concept of it, despite your definition.

People aren't getting married for tax breaks, so why even bring that into the mix? The incentive is that you have two people in the household that you need to feed so you're going to get more money, just like if you have a child you need more money for the child as well. People aren't popping out kids for $600 when it's going to cost them 100x that to keep them alive, it just doesn't work like that.

You get economic benefits and tax breaks for kids because you have to pay to keep them alive, but they don't add income to the family.
A spouse, especially pre-children, is more tan capable of getting a job and pulling their weight in the relationship.
And once again, it's not the government's job to give those benefits. You realize that the economic advantages of marraige are balanced by increased taxes for everyone else, right? In the end, it's basically non-married people paying for people to be married.

GPoints: 274 Rep Power: 122 | i don't think gays should be allowed to marry and i'm not religious. gay marriages are unnatural and counterproductive. i'm an atheist but i still believe in 1 man, 1 woman unification. anything else is a perversion that shouldn't be be embraced in marriage.

they are humans too
and it isn't wrong since you are loving a human creature so o_0 as long as it aren't animals and kids you love it's okey
and people who love each other have to be able to marry each other
it doesn't matter you have a men-men or women-women men-women couple, as long as you are happy together
