-The Easter Bunny
-Santa Claus
-Tooth Fairy
-The Great Pumpkin (naaa I'm joking.)
-And any other random creature of childhood imaginations.
I learned around 8 years old that such fantasy characters did not exist. This was due to a friend telling me, but my parents did not relise I knew of this secret.
It was not untill I was about 14 that I told them I knew, after trying to tell them countless times before hand. And they thought they could be slick and make up some reason why such creatures existed. Luckily at 14 they knew it was time to stop with this cherade.
But what if I really did still belive them? I would consider it sad if any non-handicapped child still belived in this.
And please don't think that I'm being judgemental on handicapped people, My little brother is, and I know he'll probably belive in Santa and whatnot for many more years to come (he's 11 now).
Anywho, what age do find it appropriate to tell children that Santa and other myrhical creatures do not exist?
Some of you may think the magic should be belived as long as possible, others may think at a certain age children should know; so they can begin to "grow up".
