will the world end on a specific day in 2012 or over the course of 2012 (that's a bummer; thats the year for summer olympics)

Ok I have no clue if this has been said yet but someone also said that the mayans made a calendar almost like a mileage counter ina car is made, when it hits 99,999 miles, also known as reaching the end of the mayan calendar, then it flips and starts all over. This could mean the calendar just restarts itself or ... everyones souls die then we get new ones =D xD but ya and also I heard its like Dec err 21st maybe? somewhere around there in 2012 that the world is sposed to end. Its so scary thinking that that could srs happen. LOL o well nothing I can do better enjoy life to the fullest.

LOL I just got this crazy thought ok like say for example the mayans said the world will end in 2012 yadayada but they just said it to scare people thousands of years ahead of them and they are dead and somehow watching us on like a big screen tv (lol southpark when the earth is tv) and like they are thinking OMFG EVERYONE GET IN HERE THE PEOPLE THINK THE WORLD IS ABOUT TO END and all the dead mayans come floating into the room and like right before the world is sposed to end we all kill ourselves and the mayans dont get to see our faces of relief that they have been waiting for for over 2000 years lol im so tired but that sounds funny

No, the world will not end on any day in 2012.

I say that before the world ends completely, it will be noticed much before the actual core of earth shattering events. Mass suicide will be our biggest form of death, followed by the inevitable. If however the world does not end in 2012, then I do believe that it may take a long time before we finally do run out of resources as we have been able to make so many of our own. Sounds like another Y2K thing to me, however, anything in this day is possible.
