I was kind of hoping something like the T-virus or other bio-weapon would reanimate the dead and zombies would walk the earth taking over =B. Except for their overwhelming desire for pulling the intestines out of the living (I guess it's the meatiest part) it wouldn't be so bad being a zombie. They look fairly happy. No worries about jobs, rent or bills..just wandering around drooling discoloured goo.
I'm not sure if there will be an actual "World War 3". Because with the amount of nuclear weapons out there, many countries (especially the U.S) have the ability to destroy the world 50 times over. It would be quick to say the least. And then there'd be all that radiation fallout...water supplies would be contaminated.
What really irks me is I just KNOW that a few disgusting asian cockroaches would survive and adapt <_<. I hate those little buggers O_o

You know, I don't understand why zombies would want to eat someone's intestines... I mean isn't that part of the fundamental human waste factory...? Now, I read a book once in which the main character (a psycho killer of all things) is eating the intestines of his latest victim, and he describes it as being "chalky." And anyway, if zombies were to come to life, they'd probably kill off everyone and then die off starvation, leaving the world to be nothing by a giant barren waste land. We all know that zombies eat brains, and since they haven't got any to speak of, they would literally die of their own stupidity. Is this so different than what would happen if WWIII were to really strike?

your assuming the living dead can die of starvation XD. A lot of films now are saying they don't actually *need* to eat, they just have a weird primal instinct to do so lol. I even saw this awesome B-movie called "Land of the Dead" where the zombies were learning to do small tasks that they used to do when they were alive LOL.
And I don't know what it is with intestines. I think film makers just love to have that 20 feet of human insides splash out for dramatic affect. I guess technically the intestine would contain food that was broken down by the stomach acids of your body and be on their way to the colon. Who knows why zombies do what they do? D:
I also would think biting a chunk out of a hairy guy would be rather revolting <_<. Then again they barely think so I guess it doesn't matter.
It would still be the end of the world as we know it xD. I'll just sit back and fantasize about being a slow-moving, worry-free zombie *--*. God I'm tired of studying XD

It was nearly evaded in 1995, we are very lucky that Russia had trouble deciding whether to launch all of their missiles or not. It could happen any time, any day for all we know it. As for thinking it may be the end when it does happen, I think common sense points to the fact that high destruction nukes will not be launched, simply because if one country does it, everyone will, and everyone will die in the process, and I highly doubt any of the presidents/higher officials want to die just yet by making that descision. It's all about saving our own asses. Is another cold war possible? I think so.

Edit: Its also a common myth that zombies have the instinct for eating brains or intestines, etc. They won't do so unless their master, in other words their summoner commands them to. Theoretically speaking they would not need it for survival since their bodies cannot utilize any energy they consume.

Oh wow, Land of the Dead was the greatest thing I have ever seen. I have a few favorite part of that movie, the most being when he owner of a giant zombie free utopia is trying to run away with giant suitcases full of money, and when confronted about it he simply points behind his inquisitors and shouts "Look over there!" and runs away while their attention is diverted. Also I liked the zombies playing in a pleasant string quartet in the very beginning. What a sweet movie. Anyway, more on the subject, yes, the world would be nothing more than a giant smoldering husk of doom.

@Feralora; yeah but it only takes ONE screwball to start the wheel rolling o_O. Have you seen the dictator of North Korea? You can tell he's insane not only by his rantings but also just look at his hair D:!. I hate that guy. When I lived in Tokyo North Korea would fly warheads over us for tests o_@.

Actually, Li-Shun, the water supplies wouldn't be contaminated. Water actual serves as a blocker of radiation, so only the surface water would have any radiation, if at all.

What if there were dead, charred, melted bodies floating in the lakes D:? They'd become like the Ganges river in India. Would take a drink from the Ganges? xD
My god, I should start stocking up on bottled Evian water NOW D:
