It's pretty good compared to some of the anime that exists out there.
Story line is awesome, anime itself is past decent, and it keeps you on the edge of your seat
as for character, id have to say misa (is that right?)
er, the chick in the beginning who also has a death note

I think we should all just stick to good ol' subs

Edit: Oh, and if anybody is looking for free anime, I suggest going to veoh.com
Download the client there (it's its own media browser)
basically when you open it up, go to search, and you can find anything (even non-anime)
I suggest selecting the veoh tab though, cause it usually has full episodes
Thats how I watched Death Note, hehe
By the way Ren, Your signature made me curious....
I asked a friend of mine where it was from, and I've been watching Lucky Star for the past hour or so
