The episode title within itself sets a nice theme to the series, though I'm sure a better one could have been used as a debut. However, the show in itself is all that really matters in the end.
I mean, what's there not to love about traditional Japanese fighting with weapons (with some supped up powers that rock the earth and my socks off)? The One-eyed Dragon of the North (Azure) and the Brave Lion (Crimson) are both well done characters that have their well needed flaws.
Each are dependent on someone else, even though one's a leader and the other one is a subordinate, then the two of them clash it brings shivers to my spine with glee.
The overall artwork of the show is superb, and the same can be said for detail and character design. It really makes you look back and think about those old Japanese favorites and then imagine them in a new format, cleaned up for the modern day era.
There does seem to be some English in the RAW/Subbed, though it's very infrequent and mainly used as a weird battle cry from the North Alliance.
Overall, for a debuting series, I give this both my stamp of approval and a rating of 8.9/10. Here's to hoping it gets raised in the next episode.
