I loved the book , 'Adventures of a Notorious Youth: Captain Hook', and I remember being extremely interested in a wonderfully depressing book called, 'Swollen'.

I prefer The Cage by Ruth Minsky Sender and Hitchhiker's Guide books by Douglas Adams.

I haven't read much of HG, though.
