Question about xbox live

I am planing on buying an xbox 360 soon as i get a job, but was wondering about live.

How much bandwith does it use ?
and in your opinion is it worth it ?

Edit* And this is confusing .. do you need the official Microsoft xbox wireless thingy to go online ? or can i use my own creative wireless router ?

Not sure about bandwith, that would depend on whether your playing games or downloading content i suppose. In my opinion, yes it is worth it. If not just for the multiplayer against people all over the globe, the content that you can download can make your games and console much more fun to play.

As for the wireless router, you would be able to make your own to connect, though im pretty sure you would have to open up the 360 and mess around inside it and mod it to let it connect, which would void your warranty

What in the fuck is a creative wireless router. You will need to buy the wireless adapter to connect to a wireless internet, or you can just plug an ethernet cord into the back.

well XBL i think is worth it i dont mind paying the £40 a year to use it at all but i do play halo 3 a lot on there and have been payin for XBL from the day i got the 1st Xbox

and no you dont need to buy the wireless think i have my 360 pluged in to my router.

uhm a Creative wireless router is a router made by creative :S so you need to buy the official one, kk thanks. Yeah you can plug it in I heard but my router is too far away from the xbox for that so i need the wireless adapter.

I have 12 gig a month limit.
