A guide on sorcoress damage in corum online by tomk.

1) Introduction
Hello everyone, I have decided to share with you all the datas I have gathered, digged, experimented etc.
First, what is the point of this guide ?
As some of you might have noticed by now, the damage output as seen on the status tab is different from the skill damage seen on the skill tab.
Everyone knows that the weapon you are wearing as well as the level of your Mastery skill has something to do with that.
But in which proportions ?
Which bonus applies first ?
Are they all just summed up ?
These questions and many others shall be answered by this guide.
2) Bonuses
Okay, we must first make a list of the different bonus we have. They fall under 2 categories : Hidden Bonuses and Skill Bonuses
a) Hidden Bonuses
The Weapon Skill Attack Power Bonus is calculated this way :
bonus = [weapon skill attack power / 10] %
example : a weapon with 355 skill attack power gives 35.5% bonus.
The Character Level bonus is calculated this way :
bonus = [character level * 0.4] %
example : a lvl 25 character gets 10% bonus.
b) Skill Bonuses
The Mastery Bonus is simply what can be seen in the skill tab, no tricky things here.
The Overdrive Bonus, from the Mana Surge skill is the tricky part of the equation.
Okay, the first problem is that the Overdrive Bonus is different for Minimum Damage ("min") and Maximum Damage ("max").
For the min, its simple : the bonus as seen on skill tab.
example: lv1 Overdrive = 32%
For the max... Thats the second problem.
Get some headache pills before reading what follows
I dont know if there is any logic in the equation.
1 - the bonus to max is greater than the bonus to min.
2 - the difference grows with the lvl of Mana Surge.
3 - the gap min/max is different for each spell.
4 - the growing rate also is.
Look at
chapter 4 for details, if you feel crazy enough.
Anyway, lets analyse what we got in the final equation.
3) The Equation
Okay here it is, the final damage formula.
Thank you for reading so far, I know it's been hard
Now that we know the different bonuses that apply, we want to know "how", I'll spare you the numerous tests I did and give you the result :
Final Damage Output =
[(Base_Skill_Damage x (Character_Level_Bonus + Weapon_Bonus)) x Mastery_Bonus] x Overdrive_Bonus
Now step-by-step :
Step 1: Take the Base_Skill_Damage as seen in skill tab. (i.e: Ice Barrier 25, 1984 ~ 2139)
Step 2: Apply the sum of the Character_Level_Bonus and the Weapon_Bonus (i.e: Clv100 with a 515 staff = 40% + 51.5% = 91.5%)
At this point, with 0 Mastery and 0 Overdrive, the final damage output is :
1984 ~ 2139 + 91.5% bonus = 3799.360 ~ 4096.185
If you want to stop here, round the results down (3799 ~ 4096), if you want to carry on, use the raw values.
Step 3: Apply the Mastery_Bonus on top (lets say lv10 Mastery: 28%)
3799.360 ~ 4096.185 + 28% bonus = 4863.181 ~ 5243.117
Again, if you want to stop here, round the results down (4863 ~ 5243), if you want to carry on, use the raw values.
Step 4: Apply the Overdrive_Bonus on top (lets say lv1 Overdrive: 32%)
4863.181 ~ 5243.117 + 32% bonus = 6419.399 ~ 7297.324
Okay, you see the problem here, the max is different, we should get 6920.914 (read
Chapter 4 for details)
Remember to round down the results.
So, lv25 Ice Barrier on a character lv100 with a 515 staff, Mastery lv10 and Mana Surge lv1 will do :
6419 ~ 7297
If anyone wants to know about min/max Overdrive formula, read next chapter.
If you want to keep your sanity, skip it and you can use the same formula for min and max, it will give you approximate max values.
4) Overdrive and Min/Max values
Ok, you have noticed that the Mana Surge Overdrive bonus apply differently on min/max values.
It also applies differently for each spell (yes it does

)
Here is how it works :
- Each spell got a
fixed bonus, which seems arbitrary.
- Each spell got a
bonus / Overdrive_level, which also seems arbitrary
Here are the datas :
Code:
Fixed bonus/lvl
Fire Missile 11,994% 2,992%
Fire Blaze 4,195% 1,603%
Magma Wall 13,502% 1,746%
Meteor 7,229% 1,650%
Ice Missile 10,166% 1,695%
Ice Wave 12,385% 1,729%
Ice Barrier 20,580% 1,855%
Lightning 19,094% 1,832%
Flash Shock 5,589% 1,624%
Earthquake 9,263% 1,681%
Thunder Storm 15,164% 1,772%
The Overdrive bonus for max apply like this :
OD max bonus = OD bonus * ( fixed_bonus + skill_level * bonus/level )
Let's take some examples :
Mana Surge Overdrive provides 32% bonus at skill level 1, 38% at lv4.
For Meteor, Mana Surge lv1, the max bonus will be : 32% * ( 7,229% +
1 * 1,650%) =
32% * 8.879% =
34.841% For Mana Surge lv4, the max bonus will be :
Meteor :
38% * ( 7,229% +
4 * 1,650%) =
38% * 13.829% =
43.26%
Ice Wall :
38% * ( 20,580% +
4 * 1,855%) =
38% * 28% =
48.64%
Thunder Storm :
38% * ( 15,164% +
4 * 1,772%) =
38% * 22.252% =
46.46% Analyse : Upon the most played spells, Ice Wall has the best bonus from Overdrive while Meteor has the worst.
5) Final Analyse
As you have noticed, the various bonuses apply on each other and we get the following conclusions :
- The higher the weapon bonus, the more bonus you get from higher Mastery
- The higher the Mastery, the more bonus you get from Overdrive
etc.
Well, basically, the higher everything, the more final damage
But still, I like to know how things work
Okay, thats all folks, thanks for reading, and sorry for the poor english.
Give me your feedbacks, questions, insults etc.
Yes, I will make an online-calcultator, someday..."
