I'll give you my ideas, in real life I charge money for this shit.
Ok, so first lets brainstorm. You want a networking site that grabs a specific audience, gamers.
Gaming, gamers, video games, rigid, fresh, unique, innovative, world wide, enjoyable, etc.
you have a HUUUGE target audience, and you got two great references to use; Myspace and Facebook, which are extremely successful, and massive social networking sites.
How will the site work?
Make an account, set up account, register the games you have. Create your own blog, guides, and profile, add friends, they register their games, download a taskbar app. That runs through your site giving the user the ability to see which one of his friends are online and what they're playing.
Post scores, videos, competitions.
Now, considering this will be a gaming orientated, appearance is a HUUUGE concern. Myspace and Facebook are fairly ugly. I'd suggest putting big effort into flash, that and giving the user the ability to tear apart their own profile, blog, and any other creations they spit out any way they choose, with a few restrictions. You can't have it go as crazy as myspace.
Logo, logo is HUUUUGE, extremely innovative is the project goal, definitely stand alone, slogan and branding. Branding is a massive market, you'll have to ensure that you leave a footprint, and the correct footprint to allow users to know who you are, and what you do, to prevent any confusion.
Stay away from 3.0 logos, if you want innovation don't take the easy route and choose silvers and deep blues, get creative.
That was a brief brain fart. |
