Help i Lag In RuneScape

i hear a lot of people that say they experience lag while playing runescape. In this guide i will tell you how you can avoid it.

Question:
What is lag? and how do i avoid lag?

Answer:
Lag means your computer is recieving or sending packages that are not in sync with the server/computer you send them too
the internet is nothing more then computers/servers who send packages with information from point A to point B
If these packages arrive late your game will lag/stall and will appear to stand still for seconds or even minutes.

You can avoid lag most times by:
1) selecting the server that is most close to where you live.
2) turn off everything that uses the internet or RAM memory
For example: turn off : Messenger, firewall, music, or downloading something.

Turn of all programs that use internet! dont use any chat programs, dont use any programs that download music or movies while you play runescape, dont live stream radio/music or a movie wilst playing RuneScape.

All of these programs will use internet and this they will suck up power away from other programs also using the internet..

Also your internet connection is importent, jagex can have the best servers in the worlds but if you your self have cheap internet connection you will always lag.

For example if you have a dailup modem you will lag nothing at all you can do about it, a dailup modem cause at 65k a sec and that is really terrible because runescape wants to use much more so you will always lag..

People using: DSL - ADSL - Cable should never have to lag, if you lag after you turned off all programs that use the internet as well then i suggest you run a virus scanner because something is sucking up your internet speed and maybe your computer is infected..

Advertisement in free world in runescape free world, the banner on top of your screen is made with flash, those will cause terrible lag sometimes when too many frames have been used/loaded.. even i must admit that it causes my computer to lag in some cases. If you use firefox i reccomend you get a ad blocker..so then you might not lag in free world.
