burning dvds...

Ok, So I have a bunch of movies on my computer and I want to put them onto a DVD cd, they are like DVD-RW or some shit like that.

Currently the videos are in .avi format.

What format do I need to get them to play on most dvd players?

Will +Rep.

ur dvd player is important...

if it can play divx, go on write it with nero or any other burner into a DVD

if not, you can install nero and make "burn new dvd" and get the DVD

What I mean is:

I have downloaded movies from torrents on my computer.
I want to burn those, I have nothing but like... a dvd burner to burn them or some shit idk.
AVI's don't work on DVDs, they only work on MP3's / shit like that.
I want to convert them to play on a DVD disc and player.

i guess nero can convert using "create DVD" stuff... if not, go with xilisoft Xilisoft AVI to DVD Converter - Burn/Convert AVI to DVD, DVD converter

there are cracks on net i guess

You can use windows movie maker to convert the dvd if you don't want to download anything. When converting, save it as DV-AVI. Can't remember if you can also burn the dvd using it.

takes to long + extra space.
I have like... 9gbs left.

I'm using xilisoft with key so I have the full version now.

My friend burns anime so my other friend could watch them on TV. From what I know, he converts them to .vob so it's playable on DVD player. After it's converted to .vob you have to use Nero Image to burn it.

I personally like VSO XtoDVD, fits about two movies onto a disk and you make your own menu. It converts all formats to DVD. Or even better, if you have a DVD player that plays DIVX, you can just convert to DIVX and burn them off as a files disc and you can fit like 6-7 movies on one DVD.
