database entry/maganement software

so i'm tired of using txt files to keep track of all of my various information, can anyone recommend me a program that isn't hard to learn or isn't a huge application.

so far i've tried 2 free ones and i gave up on them in less than 2 minutes because i really didn't know what i was doing D;

i mainly want to manage my accounts on vaorious websites and my emails that i've used on them but the way i currently have it setup is way too sloppy and i get discouraged because i can't really organize it in notepad :\

Excel or the free version of it.

i was thinking excel but i remember that being int he office package and thats like a gig or two of applications i won't need.

but i should download it anyway and familiarize myself with it for employment experience...

i guess excel until someone can suggest something simpler to use
