Good deal on used comp?

Here's the craigs list ad. They're asking $215. Is this a good deal?

Quote:
Included is a tower only, no accessories, I can include a mouse/keyboard at an additonal cost. I will also accept trades for an Xbox 360 Pro system or PS3 games and cash.

Tower is an Emachines T6212, original specs/manuals can be viewed at:
eMachines Support: Product Support and Downloads

Full upraded specifications:

AMD Athlon 64 3800+ 2.4ghz Single-Core Processor
Windows XP Professional SP3 32-Bit (Clean install, no bloatware)
3.0 GB DDR Ram
160 GB Hard Drive
16x DVD-RW/CD-RW Drive
ATI Radeon x1650 Pro 512MB Video Card
10/100 Integrated Ethernet

This computer plays everygame out as of now, with virtually no problems, great FPS.

E-Mail me for details/cell phone number. Thank You.

Yea, thats not bad. A little bit outdated, as the processor is SINGLE core, and the ram is only DDR. Hard-drive is a bit small by current standards, but you can always get an external, or just upgrade - depending on what you wanna do.
For under 300 bux, I'd say go for it. I wonder what motherboard he is using? That would be a big issue for me, for upgrading.

Processor - Single-core = no-no now-a-days. What a multi-core processor does is when one ''core'' gets hot, it'll switch to another one. Dual-core is great for personal uses, Quad-Core if you're running a server.
RAM - What superMarket said. You want DDR2 or higher because DDR2 can work at 5.3GB of bandwidth a second. You don't want DDR holding your processor back, do you? (:
OS - XP is still currently the best, imo. Even better than 7.
Hard Drive - Not really that small, compared to other stuff out there, sure. But let's think about it. Average game is only a couple gigs. Biggest games I've seen was in the 15GB and that's WoW and Aion, the 15$ a month games. You don't need excessive amounts.
Graphics Card - Pretty good, 512 can get you into most games for now

So, it's a decent deal but with the kinda stuff that's on there right now, it sounds like it's an older model of PCs and it's not going to upgrade well when you want to upgrade.

Also, if you want to compare prices to under-the-market prices, you can go to Tiger Direct

Its a decent deal. But by paying about $100-$150 more you could probably get a more reliable machine (I had an emachine, hated it) and updated features. Which will be worth it in the end and last you longer.
