How Do I Change My Ip Address

i was currently ip banned from a gaming site, i was wondering how i change my ip. i thought i changed it but when i did nothing on the internet would load so how i change it correctly

It depends if your IP is static or dynamic. If you have a router, try disconnecting it for a few minutes and plugging it back in. :P

use a proxy or install tor (and vidalia and privoxy)

here in the dorms we can't just unplug stuff from the router. :(

Tor has some pretty quick proxies, plus they work everywhere. I've yet to have a Tor proxy that even TNT has blocked.. so even if it's a little slower it's legit and will work like a charm every time

I called my service provider and asked for another one
so I'd suggest that, but I have seen some people use a certain proxy to change it or what not.

I had to change mine because there was an IP conflict on my own wireless network, so I had to go into the command line interface. Not quite sure what and how I did it, but it seemed to have solved the problem for me.
