GPoints: 3,101 Rep Power: 4 | Free - Best I used so far is Avira AntiVir, second would be Bitdefender
Paid - Kaspersky, AntiVir Premium, Nod32, Bitdefender
Well, I tried all the well-known AVs out there, consider Kaspersky the fastest in detection/update for new malware

GPoints: 496 Rep Power: 2 | I'd recommend Kapersky or Bitdefender. Kapersky runs really well and has good support but, in my opinion, Bitdefender is better at finding viruses -- even those which are not documented. I prefer it for that reason. Kapersky is good at doing the same thing, but not as efficiently.

GPoints: 2,057 Rep Power: 0 | I use Avira antivirus, It can detect malware better than Avast and AVG, can detect about 94.26% of viruses and I think the antivirus program is the best

GPoints: 3,994 Rep Power: 2 | I agree. Avira Antivir is the best anti-virus I have ever installed. Nightly update checks, relatively quick system scans and auto alerts within seconds of picking something up off a site. I haven't needed anything else in over a year now. I use supplemental spyware and malware programs to clean off the other crap, but Avira shines as great FREE Antivirus software.
