In order to actually give me a good argument about which technology is better, you should own/owned/used both.
Because I'm still debating about which one to get once college hits.
ZUNE:
+ big screen for movies
+ bigger font for the visually challenged
+ radio
+ wireless music exchange
+ images for wallpaper
+ (new versions) scroll or press up/down to select
iPOD:
+ it's everywhere, meaning everyone has the equipments for you to borrow for an iPOD
+ games
+ clock
+ scheduler

The Zune pwns the iPod.
There have yet to be any critical breakdowns with the Zune, despite it's being built by Microsoft.
There have been several occasions since the release of the iPod that deemed it a defective product.
Plus, for materialistic reasons, the Zune just looks better.
