Hmmm.... I'm not sure what they are asking for. It seems like there are two parts to the question, but lets be sure...

THIS swamp dweller/ ...who is THIS?
challenges you to ....bones? obviously that game, is that the answer? just Bonesy McBones, the challenger? iunno, give me your views.

and then we get down to the real question... who are THEY?

did they ever mention doubles? They? -shakes head- ok, now give me something to work with.

Well wouldn't the answer then be Bonesy McBones Bones....? I mean that's the way I'm reading the question...who are they? they are the bones and they are his bones sooooo

Actually, I believe the answer is simply Bonesy McBones, being as he's the one you challenge in the game of bones.
Going with the first part of the question, "this swamp dweller," which is singular, the answer would have to be just ONE person/character. The whole "Who are they?" thing is just the usual form pretty much any trivia question takes on.
Also, his Subetapedia entry states that he claims to hail from a swamp.
That's my reasoning, at least. Take it or leave it as you please.
