Well let’s get the required information out of the way.
I consider myself an active member. I’m just not a post whore, and half the time when I am on, I am literally observing the site and browsing through really old threads. But I notice that not a lot of Moderators are posting whenever they are on, but more so also browsing the site, and threads, making sure nothing goes wrong.
I have contributed a few guides that may or may not have been game related, but they help people accomplish little task the temporarily entertain them. I also help a lot of members out; I just don’t publicly blast it. For example, if I go into a thread and a member has requested something, 75% of the time I will PM it to them rather than post in the thread. And if I don’t have the solution, or someone gets it before me I don’t feel the need to let the OP know that I was searching for them by posting a Message saying just that. Also whenever we have a new member who seems to be somewhat “confused”, i.e Ankh/Baby Doll, I always help them and take them under my wing for however long they need guiding. I helped her a lot when she first joined.

I am very aware of the rules and I abide by them completely. For a fairly active member I don’t think that there are any members on the site that detest me. I have only had 1 warning, my whole time here, no infractions. Also just an example of me being knowledgeable of the rules, take a look at this thread:

Noodle stated that you can’t get an infraction for accusing and not having evidence and I just showed her one of the Sticky threads stating that you can. This is just an example. I am not only aware of the General rules, but also the small things. I have really called down with the whole flaming and trolling, because that was a minor problem that I had when I first joined.
Now, I completely and understand how to correctly inflict punishments. I know that there is no set manual to infracting someone and that you have you use your own discernment, and if you are not sure ask another, Mod/Admin. I also understand that as a Trial Moderator my responsibilities will be very minimal, but at the same time of great importance. You shouldn’t infract every member that breaks a rule, but also whenever a user breaks a rule I tell the user that it is against the rules. And depending on the significance give them a warning before an infraction. Correction also is not a problem for me if ever I do something wrong I will quickly correct myself, accept that fact that whatever I did was foolish, and move on.
Also whenever I report a post, I don’t just report and move on, I take the time to see how the situation was dealt with and what comments the Mod’s left for me. I took the time to talk to two Moderators so that I would fully understand the responsibilities of a Moderator. To my understanding, as a Moderator/Trial Moderator, we are to:
- Monitor the site for rule breaking. Not only what is currently going on at the time but anything that needs resolving.
- We are to check the Reported Post, and deal with them accordingly.
- Check Underground Applications.
- Respond the any PM’s that we get from members requiring help.
- Tweak anything going wrong in the forum, and try to keep the peace.
- Decisiveness
- And last but not least, take initiative and do not only what is expected of you but go beyond the minimal requirements.
I really think that I deserve Trial Mod also because I am the type of guy who like to sit back and observe quietly and learn. Every now and then I may throw my opinion out there, but I would much rather just take everything in quietly. Observing different things have helped and other members a few times. I was able to prevent myself from being scammed 3 times by reading through some threads and noticing similarities in accounts that I was being offered, and accounts that were scammed from other users. I also managed to catch 2 previously banned and report them. I am sure that Googlrr will vouch for me when I say this, that I am quite the spy and once I start something I always like to finish it. I also can find very creative ways to catch people in lies, and I have some “clever” ideas sometime.
Now that it is Summer, I can expect the activity of GG to pick up, and my activity will also increase. So I will be on a lot more. Plus I have 3 online classes that I am taking so I will definitely be online pretty much everyday for at least an hour. And that doesn’t include leisure time. So being active isn’t a problem.
