Deciding on who goes into VIP

As you know, in the past we’ve had an application system that was based off of several “requirements” that a user had to qualify. Well, now that new leaders have taken over, that method is stupid. How does it make sense to APPLY for VIP?

From now on, members will be nominated by current VIP members, and then voting will take place within the actual VIP forum. You won’t know you’ve been nominated until, well, you’re accepted.

So, what do you have to do? Well, it’s pretty simple, actually. The entire point of “VIP” is that it’s an “elite” group of members. To be elite, you have to stand out from the rest of the crowd, right? That was terribly simple, wasn’t it? Stand out, help around the forum. Things like post count and rep will still play a part in your nomination, I’m sure. But posting is simple as hell, and rep doesn’t really mean that much, so I’m not going to say “You have to have X” posts. If you stand out enough, you’ll get nominated.

So VIP members can just make a thread starting off a nomination? Not that it really affects my part.

That makes a lot more sense, actually. I always wondered why you had to apply for VIP, just never said anything. Hopefully this works out.

Essentially, when a VIP member thinks that a person stands out enough to qualify for VIP, that user will be put under a "review" which is a fancy term for "VIPs are gonna talk about shit" in the VIP section, and if they're approved, they get into VIP.

Connor, no, this is basically a "questions about VIP" for non-VIP users.
