Find a working name

I'm looking for a program that can generate a list of a combination of letters and check if it's available on a site. For example, you would select you want it 5 characters long and it would create the list from aaaaa-zzzzz, 00000-99999, but you could select to have from 3-5 characters and for each setting it would create a list. Once it creates a list, test to see if that name is already in use by submitting it and checking for a certain selection of words and any that are available, return the ones that would work.

Here's essentially what I want:

You select the number of characters, select what characters you want included, and click the button to generate the list. The label to the right says if the list is generated. Then you click Run List and it will check to see if any are available and display the ones that are in the List View. Then you can Save or Clear the list. Wanting it programmed in Basic so I can understand and alter it as needed.

If anyone's interested in helping me make this or simply making it for me, please let me know, thanks. I'd also like to have the source. I have vb6 and Visual Basic 2008 Express, but I'd prefer it be for 08 even though I don't think there's a real difference other than there are more commands available in 08.

I'd rather not release my purpose for this program unless it's someone helping me via IM.

What language are you wanting to make this in?

Thanks for reminding me. I pointed out I had Visual Basic 2008 Express and VB6, but never said I wanted it in Basic, but yes, I'd like for it to be in Basic just because that's the one I know and I'd like to be able to understand and alter it if I need to.

I'll edit the first post to mention that.

I'd like to do this over IM. PM keeps things slow. And yes, I want it to have EVERY combination from aaaaa-zzzzz, 00000-99999. That includes mixing the numbers with the letters as well like aaaa0,aaaa1, etc. I'd like the combo box to have 3, 4, and 5, but of course I can adjust that. I'd like the coding to be done so that the list can be created with ease just by adjusting the number.

IM info:
AIM: finishedmypuzzle
YAHOO: hitchcock.justin

I'm online now.

Degan is working on it, but if you want to give it a go, I don't mind.

Got the file Degan, uses a bit of stuff I'm not familiar with so I don't know what good I could do with it.

I suppose you can mess around with it and eventually learn something. If you want to learn vb6, best way is to make an account at planet-source-code.com and download anything that seems related to what you want to learn.
