GPoints: 15,479 Rep Power: 20 | New Writer's Haven Competition! Lately, I've noticed something that makes me sad. While the Haven is very active with people posting their writing quite often, hardly anyone takes the time to comment and critique these people. So to help encourage you guys, we're going to be having an Official Contest! The Writer's Haven First Official Critique Contest! The rules are simple: - You must respond to 15 separate poems, short stories, or scripts posted here in the Haven by GG members.
- Your response must be a well crafted critique that both highlights the piece's strengths and suggests possible revisions.
- Once you have all 15 posts, post in THIS topic with links for them all.
The top three entrants will be winners, but least SIX people must enter for the judging process to begin. This gives you guys an incentive to get people active!
Your 15 posts will be evaluated by a group of judges hand picked by me. The winners will be the people who's critiques showed the most genuine interest and understanding of the works and who offered the most insightful comments.
The winners shall receive: - +30 rep
- Writer's Group userbar
- "Thanks" on their entry post from all the judges.
So get reading! | |

Can we critique "Free-Write" Posts?
It seems like writing 15 Full Fledged Responses will take a LONG time, and I can't even see 15 Things for me to respond to. Wonder if maybe this could be downsized a bit, just a suggestion. Also this may end up alot of the same people getting critiquest from different people, all saying the same thing. Not sure if thats a bad thing.
I will definetly be entering this contest.

| The idea is that this will stimulate activity; as more people start responding to threads, more writers are encouraged to post new things. And if it was like... 5 posts, I would have a ton of people bullshitting a crappy response and entering the contest expecting an easy win. Quote: |

| That's definitely something that a judge would frown upon. I mean, if you come in to a topic and your critique is basically a rehashing of all the other responses, the judges would not consider it a good critique. | |

I do adore writing and am debating on posting some of my own work...
I just do not want to look hrm... how would you put it... bad? Like a leech? For participating in this. ^.^

the problem is.. there are some information that seems a little vague.. like where are the poems and stories to give comments or who will post it here? will it be the one joining or are you the one to post the poems that people will give response with..
