[Axed]

(This was based off of extra credit offered in English class. The assignment was to pick lines out of Night and form a coherent poem. This poem is formed from actual quotes picked out of different paragraphs of the first two chapters or so.)



expelled all the foreign Jews from Sighet
German army cars appeared in our streets
Jews must wear the yellow star
no longer allowed to attend synagogue
the ghetto.
deportation.
"labor camp".
concentration camp.

THE CHILD THAT I WAS HAD BEEN
CONSUMED
IN FLAMES
...so weak...

What had happened to me?
I became A-7713.
no other name.



(EDIT: Fuck, the indentations and such dont show up in the actual post.

In the first stanza every line is shifted 5 times more to the right. "The ghetto" from "concentration camp" is centered under the first stanza.
The other two stanzas are also centered, and the last line is shifted slightly right.)

Thank you :3. I feel it looks better written out on paper, because you can clearly see all the shifts and indents and it makes it more powerful.
Also, I enjoyed the book a lot as well.
