20th Century Scrapbook.

Alright guys. I have organized an event called the 20th Century Scrapbook. Basically what will happen in the contest is ever 2 weeks you will have to submit an artifact about each decade. We will start from the times on 1900 - 1909, then 1910 - 1919 and so forth. Each artifact has to be on a topic. Some topics are: Us History, World History, People, law, politics, fashion, food, or crime.

Now, an artifact for example could be: A Newspaper Article, A Journal Entry, an ad in the paper, a death report, or an announcement. Be creative. For example, if the is the 1930's pretend you are a little kid in the Great Depression. Write a journal entry on what is going on and why you think it is happening. An article should be approximately 2 - 3 paragraphs long. You will submit this every 2 weeks until we get from 1900 - 1999.

You will be graded on this competition, not judged. The rubric for grading is as follows.

Assessment Area: Possible Points

Grammar: 0,2,4,6,8,10
Creativity: 0,1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9,10
Layout/Display: 3,6,9,10
Information: 0,4,7,10
Length: 1,3,7,10

You can earn a total of 50 points per entry. Once again this is for fun only and we are giving everyone enough time to do the artifacts.

The Topic for this Entry is World History, so anything significant that happened in the world between 1900 - 1909.

Does it have to be based around a real event? Or a real person? I'd PM the question, but some other people might want to know the answer too.

Yes, it has to be based on true facts. That can make it a little ore challenging but I know we can do it. I had to do an assignment very similar to this is the 8th grade except for me it was 5 entries every week and the entries had to be 3 pages in length.

I want people to be original when researching events, maybe they find something another user doesn't have. But if the users post their entries other users can take that event. So how about all the entries are PMed to either me or Bunneh, and when it is time for grading we will post all of the intries in a thread for other users to read.
