Poet Of The Week #1

Hello,

This is sidespin and this is the first poet of the week poetry competion!

We still have a need for more judges, so feel free to apply!

I'm posting this early because I won't be on tomorrow morning.

Basically, each week you will submit entries according to a theme that I will provide. Then the judges and I will pick the best entry, and that person will have their name posted in a Hall of Fame sticky soon to be created by Bunneh. If we do not get enough submissions, then I will be lengthening the competion to 2 weeks or even monthly. So please submit!



This week you must write a freeverse poem on FIRE. It doesn't have to be directly about fire, just it must have some kind of relation For example, you could write about a candle, camping or even war.

This contest will run untill Saturday the 8th. EXTENDED TO SATURDAY THE 15th (May be extened)

Whose stomach did hurt real bad,
His diagnosis sure sucks.
I suppose it's acid reflux,
But he farts flames and burns his nads!

to hear another woman's giggles
in our secret hiding place
and words meant only for me
my breath catches in my mouth
contemplating on what to do next


and when I look at you
my eyes like tunnels
blackened with hate
for this heart has lost its spark
but instead found fire

spitting blood into an old slurpee cup
your front teeth displayed for all to see
on your mistress and her husband's lawn
you're a sobbing mess of a boy
honestly, I want to wish you dead

they say hate is such a strong word
but I hate you,I hate you,
I hate you a million times over
what you did will not be forgiven
because I don't even want to hear it
I can't bare to hear it


so when you look at me from the hospital bed
with your pathetic little blue china eyes
don't expect me to act as your faithful companion any longer
because I will not compete for a corrupted man's affection
with a yellow-haired woman with a synched waist
because the spark is gone, you see


and only the fire remains.
