The latest version is Counter-Strike Source (i was trying to be clever with the title). Just wondering when/if a new version will be coming out. Not that I care too much, CS 1.6 is still more fun that CSS.

CS1.6 is better competitively, but definitely CSS for public as its ridiculous.

CSS would be the newest version.
Don't think another one will be made anytime soon until we get beter programs to make it.

Not going to happen, there will be no "Half-Life 3" as HL3 is going to be HL:Episode One,Two And Three ;)

Although a new Team Fortress is being released with Half Life Episode 2 so who knows maybe Counterstrike 3 will be released with half life episode 3

There's no point on making a new one without a new engine. It would just be the same game.

But IF they make a new engine for Episode Three, a new CS will probably follow.

They have made alot of updates to the engine which CSS doesnt take full advantage on, the HDR maps for instance, they could add better model rendering, they dont need a whole new engine, episode one looks wayy better than CSS
