GPoints: 8,569 Rep Power: 12 | Inheritance Series: Brisingr Okay,
so I finished "Brisingr",
the third book in the Inheritance series.
-sigh-
I don't know what I thought this would be the last book.
For some reason I was under the impression that it was suppose to be a trilogy.
I should have known 3/4ths of the way through that this book wouldn't complete the set.
I liked and didn't like this book.
Anyone else follow this series?
Anyone started/finished this book yet?
Your opinions?
etc?
(The Inheritance series is the book behind the "Eragon" movie.
It's based off the first book, "Eragon")

Edit:
The first book in the series, Eragon, was self-published by Paolini's family in 2002 and re-published in 2003 by Knopf; it was followed by Eldest in 2005. Both were New York Times bestsellers[1][2] and together have sold more than 12.5 million copies worldwide.[3] The third book in the series, Brisingr, was published on September 20, 2008,[4] and publication details for the as-yet un-named fourth book have not been set.[3] The series was intended to be a trilogy, but this changed as Paolini wanted to add more to the story.

GPoints: 2,048 Rep Power: 11 | I read the first one, I thought it was ok, but it kind of rambled on and on in my opinion.
I started and never finished the second one, I just couldn't get through it.
Also, I also thought that it is was a trilogy.
Edit: I see, well I will have to get through the rest of the books before I get to the 4th

GPoints: 9,647 Rep Power: 14 | I read Eragon, but I really didn't like it much. The writing was too simplistic, and it was too much like other books of the fantasy genre. So, I never read any after that. I actually think the movie was much better, but I think that's because the type of storyline hasn't been portrayed as often in movies as it has in books.

GPoints: 15,478 Rep Power: 20 | I thought both of the first books were horribly cliche and unoriginal, that the writing style was simplistic and definitely nothing that stood out, and that the books themselves were only popular because of the author's age when he wrote the first one. Honestly, I really don't like them. I read them because it's popular literature, and I like to be informed and be able to have an enlightened opinion. But I really don't enjoy them whatsoever. The fact that he's adding another book simply shows that he's enjoying the success of the series (and the money that comes with it); the books are not examples of "good" writing. At all.

GPoints: 8,569 Rep Power: 12 | I loved the first book
and I loved the second book.
I guess I don't really care much for how "cliche" or "unoriginal"
the book might seem.
Like...
I've read tons of other books that had a similar storyline.
I guess what hooks me is how the author manages to pull me in.
I'm 20 years old,
and I still go to the childrens' and teens' section to find books to read on occasion.
I don't care how simplistic the story is,
so long as it keeps me entertained and has a bit of length to it.
I wont say much about the book,
since some of you plan on reading it.
I will say though,
that this book was almost completely pointless.
Like...
I don't think a book has ever let me down like this one has.

GPoints: 860 Rep Power: 4 | I watched the Eragon movie before I started to read the book. The movie was alright, wasnt all that special. I got halfway through the book before abandoning it. I dunno why, I normally love all books, but i couldnt get into it. I might try again soon, because my friends say its a pretty good series.

THAT MOVIE SUCKED!!!!
I heard the movie was coming out,
and that what promted me into reading the books.
There was only ONE scene in the book that matched the movie,
everything else was butchered by Hollywood.
>.<

GPoints: 846 Rep Power: 4 | I read Eragon and liked it. I read Eldest as well, it wasn't as good as Eragon but Paolini's writing definetly improved.
Now I'm reading Brisingr when Eragon is with the Kull. ;)
