| My Review of Dewy's Adventure (Wii), 48/60 Storyline: The storyline of Dewy's Adventure isn't anything to throw a parade or write silly fan-fictions for. To put it simply, Don Hedron leader of the "Black Waters" has returned from being sealed away. They pollute the world and the Tree of Seven Colors calls upon Dewy (A little raindrop) to "clean" up the Black Waters and save the Tree of Seven Colors. -Storyline gets a 7/10 for being average. Controls: The game is controlled completely by the Wii-Remote held horizontally. We all know Wii-Remote motion controls are highly controversial, this game is no exception. Personally I found the games controls to be good, no glitchy movement or anything like that. You just tilt the Wii-Remote fowards, backwards, left, and right to move. You can also shake the Wii-Remote left and right to create a gust of wind. Shaking it up and down results in an earthquake. Both have effects on enemies, the environment around you, and puzzles. The rest of the buttons are easy to figure out, and not worth going into. -Controls get an 8/10 no major problems here. Graphics: The graphics of Dewy's Adventure are beautiful for a Wii game. The graphics are very cute and adorable. This doesn't make them bad however. The environments around you are greatly detailed, and Dewy's animations are very fluid, as are the rest of the characters in the game. The graphics really make this game's world come to life. -Graphics get a 9/10 they are very nice and colorful. Perfect for this game. Sound/Music: I am clumping these two together since they work together for a great performance. The music is very upbeat and lively, to match the game's theme perfectly. The sounds of Dewy jumping are cute, and don't get tiring. There really isn't much more I can touch on here other than they worked together pretty well. -Sound/Music get a 9/10 as well. Very nice. Gameplay: This is a Platforming game, with some puzzle, and collecting elements bundled inside. You will use Dewy's powers to change the environment to turn from Liquid form, to Ice and Gas form to get through the game and solve puzzles. All of the forms have a different feel for controls. They mimic the form that you are in, which is great. Liquid Dewy slides around like a drop of water on a plate you tilt around. Ice form controls very sharp and slides like ice does. Gas form you really can not move in, unless there is a gust of wind to blow you around. Aside from just going through the levels, there are these little creatures to save called Eaus. There is 100 of them per level, and collecting them all can be quite tricky at times. The boss battles on this game are great, although the difficulty level can go from HIGH to LOW. They were all very unique though, and weren't just clones of eachother. For multiplayer you have a little game where you battle it out and collect coins. It can be fun, but overall forgetable, even with a VS level creator there wasn't too much that was gripping with it.
-Sidenote: You can send Custom VS Maps to friends, but there is no other online features other than that. -Gameplay gets an 8/10 a very enjoyable experiance, but multiplayer is lacking, and forgetable. Replayability: There is so much replay value available for this game. Getting perfect ranks on each level, collecting all the Eaus. It gives a lot to do after you beat the game. If you happen to like the multiplayer mode, level creator can give you a fun experiance to come back to as well. If you aren't into collecting, or the multiplayer the replayability could be considered low. -Replay gets a 7/10 it can be hit or miss with the collecting, but it has a replay value such as a Kirby game. It is really an enjoyable game, and playing it again and again doesn't feel like a hassle at all. OVERALL SCORE: 48/60
FINAL GRADE: B- A very enjoyable, and greatly overlooked platforming game for Wii. I bought it when it first came out, and now you could probably get it for $20. I definately would recommend buying it.
