Various pictures I took today while at the zoo.
I have like 200 more but,
these were the ones that turned out the best.
It's kind of difficult to take a picture of a fish in constant motion,
with no flash(they ask that you turn it off in most areas)
and through a 2ft piece of glass.
<.<
Taken with a normal digital camera,
nothing special.
(The entrance)
One of the freshwater exhibits.
Gars, gators, and even a few freshwater sharks among other things.

Geckos!!!

Lionfish.
Apparently all those bad storms we kept having brought them in off where they usually stay,
and now they're totally destroying the natural oceanic wildlife found on the US coastline.
They don't have any natural predators in our area,
so while they're chomping on all the red snappers & flounder and the like,
they're fking spreading like an epidemic.
They're pretty and all,
but ehh.
They're venomous.
<.<

I'm a dork for paleontology, archaeology, paleozoology and the like.
<.<
I thought it was neat that they had a huge whale skeleton in this area.

The tube-ie view thing.
A young whale shark among many other things.

Size reference picture.
Their whale sharks aren't that old,
so they're not that big imo.
They're only between 16-20 ft long.
Whale sharks can get much much bigger than that,
like in the 30ft range.
<.<
They don't look that big until they get right up on the glass.
The neatest thing throughout the entire exhibit was the Manta ray.
(I didn't get any good pictures of her)
Apparently the Atlanta Aquarium is the only aquarium in the US that actually owns/on loan a Manta ray.
They're probably my favorite oceanic marine wildlife.
