SMotM Nomination Plea Thread #1

Lately, I've become the sort of night watchman of GG. My sleep schedule has become virtually nonexistent because of college; this week, I pulled 4 all nighters, not including weekends where I partied most of the night. Because of this weird schedule, I find myself on GG a lot. More importantly, I find that from around 1 am to 10 am my time (Central, US), I am the only active moderator online. I've busted multiple proxy and PBM users, and done my best to keep the Sandbox mostly free of spam. Additionally, I've been working to keep the Writer's Haven active through various contests. In the end, though, I don't want to say that I deserve SMotM. That's the job of the members. Rather, I simply hope that people see my efforts and believe that I should receive this award. At the end of the day, I'm trying to help the users and make the time they spend on this site more enjoyable. Hopefully, I've succeeded.

I'll make this short as possible. I'm usually active whenever I can be (usually 3 to 10 on weekdays) and I could back that up easily. I spend alot of the time looking for people who aren't following the rules such as looking for previously banned members, scammers, people registering on proxies, and rule breakers in general. I've banned over 900 members that have been rule breakers in some way; whether it be using proxies while registering, scamming, or just being a nuisance. I joined this site on 12/7/07 but was later banned for advertising on another site. Ryan then added me on MSN a few months later, asked me to be mod, and well, look where I am now! I became a Trial Moderator at 50 posts and had my first ban on 6/17/2007 and it has significantly increased since then. I've been a loyal members from the start and spend a large amount of my time on here trying to make it a better place

In short:
1) I'm active whenever possible
2) I spend most of my time banning and looking for rule breakers
3) Joined 12/7/07 but banned for advertising another site
4) Asked by Ryan to mod (at 50 posts), and I accepted
5) Became a mod at 50 posts and first ban on 6/17/2007

I know I've just been promoted to mod, but I think I've warmed up to the position quite well. Although I'm not constantly banning and infracting, as I don't have the most spammy forums, I am always watching all of the forums. I tend to lurk more than post. I make a lot of verbal warnings and I'm benevolent in many situations. I consider myself very helpful to all the members, and just want this site to be helpful, clean, and friendly. So, while I may not have the most bans, I'd like the members to know that I'm here to help, and make this place welcoming.

But do the mods have to have this section? I mean if they have to write the same "plea" each month it just seems a little repetitive.

"I'm good because blah,blah and blah"
Next month
"Oh crap, what have I done in the past month to deserve this?"

I know the first one will be interesting because we can hear all about how you became mods and how active you are... but after a few months I don't want to hear that all again.


So do mods think they can find something that has made them REALLY stand out from the last month? Besides banning and being mods.

Kyo has said it all in his post, no one really wants to know about him being a mod. They want to know WHY we should vote for them. And if it means nudes, good for him ^^
