Help, what would YOU like to see for new features in RTS games

Hey guys,

So I am here to poll you guys about what you would like to see as far as innovative new features for RTS games. I am researching this on behalf of a group I am working for who are getting ready to develop a new RTS game. Any feedback would be appreciated. Feel free to be as elaborate as you like.

More subterfuge options, buffs and debuffs are nice but advanced spying methods are never available in RTS's.

I beg to differ. The spy from Red Alert 2 is as advanced as it gets. It can sneak into the enemies base, and even take form of a dog.

One feature I always have missed is RANDOM (unexplored or explored) maps in newer RTS. I still play the old Age of Empires and the fact that you have RANDOM maps there for skirmishes is always exciting. You never know what the next game will bring. Whether you or your opponent has the better map and in unexplored maps it will depend on your exploring if youre gonna get the right resources.
