| If someone makes multi's, I usually do one of two things depending on the situation. 1. If it's the case of a forgotten password or something like that, I ban the lesser account. (less posts and activity) and let them keep the active account. I'm assuming they made the new one because they lost access to the old one for some reason. 2. If they're sharing reputation, or spamming, or just being a bad member somehow, I ban the more active account and leave them with the shitty account.
If someone makes a multi while they're being temporarily banned so that they can get around the lousy 3-day ban, then I permanent ban both accounts and the member is no longer welcome to the forums and will continue to be banned for every new account they make that we find. (Which I think all the mods do) I suppose if a mod is feeling particularly nice, they could just ban the new multi account, give them a warning that they'll be perma banned on their main if they don't cut the shit. |
