Linux & WINE

I'm not sure if this in the right area and I apologise in advance if it's not.

Anyway
Start of last year my laptop got damaged turning it into basically a desktop, the battery is fucked and so is the wireless. So it needed to remain plugged in at all times, it was fine on Windows until a bunch of power cuts occurred and completely screwed the whole system.

It had somehow deleted the admin log in, causing the comp to be fucked and un-usable on the operating system.
I spent a good few days trying to get a hold of a windows XP disc and failed miserably, my mate then came around and installed Linux onto it along with WINE. He didn't show me how or what he did and then left.
Not to long after another powercut occurred and erased Linux, luckily I had the Linux disc still and used that put Linux on again.

However he's been a twat recently and isn't well liked so I can't ask him to help with the installation of WINE. I've left, but now I'm getting ticked off with un-compatibility and was wondering if anyone could help me by telling me how the fuck I install WINE!

Things that I will answer now

1) YOUR SUCH A LINUX n00b!
R) Yes I am, HENCE WHY I'M ASKING FOR HELP!

2) Why not just re-install windows?
R) couple of problems: No installation disk, Linux has been really good at being virus free especially when it comes to downloads so I would like to keep it.

3) why don't you just buy a new laptop/computer with windows
R) I don't have the money to do so. Simple right?

4) What is WINE?
R) WINE is a program for Linux allowing you to run Windows Programs.

so yeah...
Can anyone offer me any help on installing WINE?
