Well, for example if you did your navigation using Javascript instead of Flash wouldn't it be more Search Engine Optimization friendly?

You're right. I'm not used to using Javascript for websites. I used it to code Runescape Private Servers for the longest time though.

Well, if you want flash, but still want to be able to slice like in Photoshop. Adobe's coming out with Flash Catalyst. I haven't checked in on it since October of last year, so it might already be out.

Yes Catalyst is already out. I was reading into it but kinda iffy on putting the time into learning it versus putting the time into learning how to do everything manually.

Flash Catalyst is Photoshop + Flash if I remember correctly. You create it and slice it in photoshop, and if you want to do fancy shit in flash, shazam. I know it's not just that though. You could also create a design in photoshop, slice it, and then run it in flash catalyst to turn a rectangle into a scrollbar or whatever.

Basically it's Photoshop + WYSIWYG + Web 2.0 influences.

for basic understanding on all of it you can go to W3Schools Online Web Tutorials or visit youtube for php academy, then move onto Object oriented programming in php.
