Guide on how to get a summer job

So you turned 15 (or maybe older) and you want a job; what are some of the jobs that will be available to you? Even though you think that you are a master at computers its very unlikely that at this age you will find a career in this field, instead I would recommend the following jobs for you; fast food, stock or if worst comes to worst, field/farm work ie corn detastling.

Now how do you go about getting these jobs?
simple, make a resume, make it presentable with a personalized cover letter for that specific job (this helps alot! it shows that you are interested in working in that one place and not just handing out resumes to random places)

make sure on the application if it asks are you available to work weekends you put yes; even though sometimes you will not be able to; its better to say that you can because at my job when we are going through the applications if you can't work weekends we just throw them out; make it seem like you really need the job, keep your schedule open for your job and schedule your life around your hours, not the other way around, this way you have a better chance of getting the job (you might have to change your summer workout routine)

make sure you show up on time, even get their early, if you get their early they will know you are eager to work. When you are being interviewed and asked questions, be loud and don't show that your scared (not obnoxiously loud, but show confidence, don't be all mousy) since you are going to have to be dealing with people all day you should show that you are a friendly people person. because alot of places have trouble with stealing tell them, I have a clean record and wouldn't dream of stealing, even throw in I'm thinking about being a cop when I'm older, that will score you brownie points. When the questions are over, don't be afraid to ask your own questions, it shows that you are intuitive and interested in the job.

walk away with confidence and wait for a phone call the following week, if you don't get one, at least you will be better prepared for your next interview.

We hired someone at work yesterday and I'm just telling them the criteria because I go through the resumes and right away if you don't have those requirements we don't even look at your resume.
